          | Is there a differance in the govenor system on a 170 gas and a Gleaner gas engine?Do they work the same? Is a swap from Gleaner to 170 a easy project? Any changes to look for? Thanks Tracy Martin

          | Governor will need to be swapped.  Combine governor is designed to wide open all the time - all or nothing.

          | I have some threads on here about the swap, About two weeks ago. "E Gleaner engine in a WD" I think. It wasn't hard, you will need a seal for the Gleaner engine, I have the National Seal # will save you several $ TO STAY AWAY FROM DEALER! Yours is plugged now where the throttle comes out... My e mail good,cotncrzy@yahoo.com check it most every A.M.

          | The gleaner does not have a linkage system to vary the engine speed.  The front cover from a WD-175 and all in between will sub.  The linkage can be installed if one has the parts by knocking out the plugs etc.  There are different weight gov wts and springs for different RPMs  .  The gleaner had a mechanical cam driven fuel pump that will have to be covered with a block off plate similer to V8 chev .  Snout on the crank will need to be shortened on some swaps - we did this on a WD by simply cranking eng and laying a hack saw blade on the appropiate place - probably not an OSHA approved process. The oil fill locations should be considered as well.   Call me if u wish |
