I think I'm about to bite on a 7060. My uncle farmed with it before he passed, but it's got problems with the turbo and the engine needs overhauling. His sons ran it for a while, but haven't been considering the overhaul. I figure one more tractor for my 50 acers is about right. I'm going for HP per acer. LOL...

What trans does it have and would you do anything to it just because youre there? I have a 7040ps on 40 acres with good luck.

I'm not sure about the trans. There aren't any problems with it that I know of. If there were I would fix it. I'm one of those that fix it all when I start. It's a weakness. I do it all so its just parts. The biggest engine I've done is a 2800, so a 7060 is a new venture.

The 7060 is pretty easy to overhaul. If you have a good handle on the 2800 engine, the 3700 will be simple too, they are of course not the same engine, but very similar. Don't you need a 4W-305 for that many acres!? :-)

Nsula the problem you have is a 25 cent part that takes $1000 to get to. Seems you could pull one piston, rod, and sleeve at a time replacing the orings, rod bearings, and piston rings without pulling the block out completely. The problem with this is the possibility the sealing surface to the orings might be corroded, which would take a full motor pull and special machining operation to correct. Roll of the dice...

I've got a D15, and 185 and now it looks like a 7060. Thats with a (close you eyes and plug your ears) a 8N and 9N Ford. There is D14 and D17 in the family just not mine. They are just next door. Most of the times the D14 and D15 get used in the garden.
