I need new oil lines. The short one from the oil filter area to the T fitting on head has sprung a leak. Rust got to it. I would like to replace the one going to the governor also. It looks like a conical compression fitting. All I see in the stores are the double bevel "bead" compression fittings, and too large in diameter. What is it called, what size, where to purchase? |

McMaster carr has the lines and fittings. The Tee fitting will look a little different though. My guess is most tractors have the lines plugged up and should be cleaned or replaced. |

You really don't want to change the tee in the head. It has the orifice to meter/slow the flow and could drop the oil pressure.

Thanks Dick, I didn't know that. If a guy couldn't find an original I'll bet it wouldn't be hard to install one. Find an allen set screw that just wants to screw in and drill the center. I just sold one of those tees a few weeks ago. I'm going to look at another to see. |

| I went out to look and that hole in the tee looks to me to be the same or larger than the tube. Maybe that hole didn't need to be any bigger because of the tube size. Either way I expected to see and real small hole if it was to control oil pressure. |

| you can buy copper oil line and fittings in a kit at Advance Auto or Auto Zone, about $12.00. It has the correct ferules with it. I have used standard plumbing type 1/8" ferules and they worked OK. All you want to do is squeeze the ferule around the tube and against the fitting. The area at the nut end doesn't seal anything, it just presses. Bob |

Is the Sunpro CP7584 the right kit? The conical ferrules look about right. That is a copper line kit, they also have nylon. Is the ferrule at the governor a standard "double bevel bead" type ferrule? Thanks. |

McMaster has the lines in stainless only I believe. The governor has the same ferrules yes. |
