| This may be a shot in the dark but I sure would like to find the tractor I used to play on when I was a little kid. My name is Larry Shafer and I am located in New Bedford Oh which is 20 miles west of Dover Oh. I grew up in Baltic Oh but Dad and Grandpa had a small garage here so thats where I spent a lot of time growing up and now live here. Grandpa's name was Dwight Shafer, he passed away in 1982. The sale was a couple of years later, he had an Farmal F20 and what remained of a Fordson and lot of other stuff that was sold. The E was the one tractor I wish had now or least would like to see again. Dad thinks it is still in Ohio. Dad did start it sometime in the late 70s but we didn't have it running the day of the sale. Grandpa would turn the crank once in a while to keep it free. I think it was one of the later E's.I'm new here on this forum and after lurking awile thought I would at least say Hi and ask a question, seems like a bunch of great people here. I am presently restoring my 49 C for the second time. I have owned it for over 29 years. It was parked in the weeds the last 5 years and needs repainted and a few other mechanical things done. Larry, welcome to the club. I can't help with the E but there are quite a few Ohio guys on here that may be able to point you in the right direction. You might put an ad in Farm and Dairy under "wanted", you never know, someone may have it in a barn and not know what to do with it.

Let's start by finding out is it a LONGFENDER E -20-35 up to year 1926 ,( these pictures are of my 1925 E 20-35 longfender )witch is a early E. Maybe someone can post a picture of a Short fender 1927 and up witch the early one's of these where also Green .  Just seen this is a older picture of mind,JW 's E 18-30 oil pan is laying on rear deck .

| Larry. heres a thought. if grandpa had an auction to do the dispersement check with the auctioneer. you cant believe the old records that these guys keep. being in Tuscarawas County the auctioneer was probably Bambeck, Wallick or maybe Kiko. the receipt of sale that the auctioneer filed would contain name, address, etc of the E model buyer.....just a thought.......tp studer aka Bolivar Boy. |

| Thanks for the replies. The auctioneer was Dave Kaufman, it was 28 or 29 years ago but they may still have records. I just talked to dad and he said the E was a 1932. The original radiator was damaged somehow and dad used one off an old AC crawler that grandpa had. It looked the same but the crank to start the engine with was a little different. Dad thinks the original radiator was with the tractor at the sale. Also we are in Coshocton county. |

| 1932 would be a Orange E 25-40 ,these where the late model of the E's witch ran up to 1936. |

| Larry. heres another thought. stop in @ Steam Valley Farm @ the intersection of 77 & 39 west, next to the Catholic Cemetery. Steel Road. Harold Steel was a piller of the Tusc County Antique Equipment Assoc. His boys are still knee deep in it since his passing. am sure they would have a heads up if a nice E model is still around......tps. |

| Thanks Fred and Boliver, I will call Terry Steel this evening, I have known Terry for years but didnt even think of asking him. We usually talk trucks since that is my occupation. Also gonna jump on the Harley and ride out to Gary Brenlys cuz he has mentioned the E several times in the past. |
