I have the 6 foot drag disc that Dad got new with the 47 C. He didn't have the C long but when he got the CA he put 13-24's on it so he could stay up on plowed ground to pull the disc. If it was any bigger than 6 foot, I don't think you could disc plowed ground. You could probably pull a little more in cornstalks???????

| I agree with the 6'. We used to pull an 8' disc with a B in light ground and it was more than what was good for the tractor. I'm probably in the minority on this, but I prefer implements that are toward the smaller end of a tractor's capability, you can always go a little faster, but you can only go so slow when things toughen up. |

This 8 foot pull type disc was pulled over many acres with a C. A six foot would be fine but I sure wouldn't turn down an eight foot disc.   |

Thank you all for your replies. Dick that is a beautiful disk! What kind is it? Did you restore it? I pull an 8 foot Fergeson 3 pt disk behind my WD. I am not sure a C could get the traction to pull a 8 foot disk too deep in my ground...but maybe I would be surprised!!! Should a WD be able to pull a 10 or 12 foot disk? I pulled a 8' IH drag disk around in plowed ground with an IH A. Had plenty of power, so I would think a AC C could as well! ------------- D14, D17, 5020, 612H, CASE 446 |

| As long as the cooling system is in good shape, a healthy C does fine with an 8 ft tandem disc. Dual rear wheels would be ideal, but may not be necessary depending on the soil. Mine does well in second gear with an 8 ft JD KBA in most conditions. These little tractors will make your neighbors stare in slack jawed amazement if you set them up right! |

| I pulled a 7 ft disc with my CA with no problem in third gear. I disked a field for a friend and he said I would have to use 2nd gear going up a hill in the field as he had to do that with his WD when he pulled the disc. I pulled right up the hill in 3rd with no problems. I too feel it is better to have a smaller tool then overload the tractor. Bob |

I pull a 8-1/2" mounted with a "CA" in plowed ground with no trouble in 3rd gear. I put duals on for a much nicer ride in plowed ground. Just keep in mind that a "C" is not a "CA". I have not ever used a "C". Below is a link of me discing with my "CA" in plowed ground. Who ever had this disc before myself put 18" discs on it.

Thanks. That was a disc that my Dad bought back in the mid to late 1940's. It is an Oliver disc and I restored it winter be for last. I had to make some of the frame parts as well as machining John Deere bearings and spools to fit. I still need to find or machine channel to hold/mount the scrappers.
