Just wondering how good the hydraulics,power director transmission, cab, pto, 301 engine, rear end etc. any info would be appreciated thanks

I've owned an 8010 since new. It has about 4500 hours on it & I think it's an all-around excellent tractor. The only issue we had with the engine was from electrolysis eating a hole in one of the liners, but that's an issue with any wet sleeve engine. Otherwise it's a good comfortable tractor to operate. Good cab with high visibility. We use ours mostly for tillage work. The PTO worked fine on our chopper & haybine. It's a bit under-powered for a powershift transmission, but the power director works well. Mitch & Barb in West Michigan

Electrolysis is only an issue if you don't look after the coolant. Test coolant with test strip at every service and add DCA as needed. Change coolant filter if you have one- they come with different levels of DCA. If you can't do that change coolant every 2 years and you will not have problems. Highway tractors can go million km on same coolant if maintained properly.

how about hydraulics in cold weather like zero and below do they work well or are they slowed down ?/

Uncle has an 8010 FWA p.s. Been a very good tractor for him. Has around 11,000 hours on it now. Been pretty well trouble free.

We have two. One is a power shift 2wd and the other is power director fwa. Great tractors that are good one fuel. But I have always thought the little 301 wasnt quite enough engine for the big frame they are in. Our P.S tractor is currently for sale too.

We have a 8010 fwa ps. Dad traded a 8030 fwa ps because he thought the 8010 would do the same jobs and use less fuel. Found out that it uses the same amount of fuel and does not pull quite as good. LOL...I think I mentioned that to him before...I since bought a 8030 2wd pd, it will easily out pull the 8010 and I would hasten to say it would give the 8030 fwa a run for all it was worth, the ps transmission makes them seem like a dog, the pd does not. One thing is for sure, you do not need fluid nor weights on the 8010 for traction, the 8030 does.
