HI I purchased a chrome stack off of some tractor website but it did not fit in the 45 diesel exhaust system. If you have a stack on your 45 diesel could you share some details on what you did. I would be very interested. Thank you.

the "gasoline" version I have for my tractor, was ordered specifically for my tractor.
http://www.steinertractor.com/default.aspx" rel="nofollow - http://www.steinertractor.com/default.aspx  only lists them for gas. Might not be a diesel one available.

i bough a stainless for my d19 diesel and the o.d was 3"and it wouldn't fit the turbo elbow so I took it to the guy down the road that does exhaust work and he expaned the end to fit the 3''O.D. elbow.Long story short, if yours is to small you can find someone that has an exhaust pipe expander,if its to big you can buy an adapter (NAPA) if you wont see it over the hood. good luck.

My stainless steel pipe came from Thomure Mfg. 491 East 522nd Rd. East Prairie, MO 63845-8806 1-800-527-9954.
I told them how high it should be and what diameter I wanted and what it needed to be necked down to for the inlet.  HTH Tom

In 2007 it was $127 plus shipping which made it $140.  Here is a link that shows when I first got it.  I had a clamp to a bracket for the two bolts, but the hood would not fit as the clamp had to be too high.  I had the bracket welded to the under side of the pipe where it was reduced down for the inlet; then the hood fit nice.

I have since bought a Nelson muffler for use at the farm since it is so loud to have the straight pipe on when working.  The muffler cost $164.43 and with tax and shipping it came to $189.70; so either it was inflation since the muffler was purchased in 2012 or the straight pipe was cheaper.

The Nelson muffler is taller than my other pipe; I ordered the straight pipe at a height that would fit under the garage door.  I had to move the 45 to the other side of the shed with the 12' door now since it no longer fits where it was.  I measured first though so I drove it out before putting the muffler on; otherwise I would have had to install it twice.
