Thanks to all you fellows that tried to help me solve my hydraulic problem on my WD45 but I have had enough. After taking the pump off 4 times, taking it apart, cleaning it, putting it back on 4 times, the results are the same. It is going to take someone smarter than me to get the hydraulic cylinders to work. I am taking it to a tractor mechanic and let them deal with it. "A man has got to know his limitations." Thanks guys for all your help.

Rod - I'd come over and help but I'm headed out on vacation tomorrow. I'd ship it to Don(MO) rather than take it some place locally that's not familiar with old AC's. Also, make sure you have the control valve set correctly if you haven't already (you probably have).

Just had one apart last week. Pump took about 2hrs to disassemble , clean and put back together. Some years ago I posted the pics like in an exploded view. Here they are again.

Most of these pumps I see have alot of linkage and lever damage. A real good cleaning and maybe even sandblasting could be in order before any disassembly occurs.

couple years ago my lift arms would go up fine but would just barely settle and stop halfway when going down, I personally knew a mechanic at the local AGCO dealer and he took the pump and rebuilt it. turned out when I had the top part off a few years ago I lost the little detent ball and when he rebuilt it from an old parts pump he noticed the missing piece, works perfect now. sometimes you need to compare it to a working pump before the problem is evident. good luck

I hear ya! Sometimes you just have to walk away and let someone else figure it out. Otherwise, obsession sets in...
