Finish up the narrowed G today and was usng it to cult. some corn that was burning up.
installed the decals.
Went to turn the tractor around the one side of the cult. came off and went under the tractor.
Got real close to getting my foot by the brake.
some one had made some wedges they were not tight enough i guess should have look at this closer.
went back weleded the bracket back on and took some wedge off another G i have here and every thing seems okay.
Looking for a good paint for muffers anybody recommend anything?      Here pictures of the next G to fix up.
have good rear wheels these were on it when i got in.
pulled the engine out of the narrowed G and installed in this one as a mouse had built a nest a pissed on the flywheel causing the clutch to become stuck.
I am going to install a G plow on this one.
and still have the G high crop waiting to be redone.

Yikes, that could have quite painful. Glad you didn't get caught. Coulda been had on a tire too.

Richard, on the wedges, drill you a hole when they are installed on small end. Leave eniough room from clamp that they are easily installed or removed. A cotter pin or hairpin works great. HTH Tracy Martin ------------- No greater gift than healthy grandkids! |

Wow! That accident could have been some kind of ugly. Glad you are safe. Nice looking restoration. Do you happen to know the make/model of that vertical muffler. Looks like it would be much quieter than the originals. If you are mounting a plow on the next tractor, let me know if you are interested in selling that 60" double toolbar. I need one.

Thanks goes out to Fred in Pa on the engine kit for the motor complete rebuild turn out great.
The muffler was on the tractor when i got it so i am not for sure what type it is.
sounds okay not for sure how the other muffler sounds as i do not have one on the tractors i owned.
They did this because the wheels are right nest to the exhaust.
Yes i am lucky i still do not know how my foot did not get caught when the cult. came off.
When i get done with my G's,
I will be selling what equipment i am not usings may take 1 year to get done as seems like not getting anything done very fast anymore.

When I bought my G it had a muffler like that. It has TSC on it. I didn't like the tight bend of the pipe fitting so I bent a pipe so it has a nice curve in it. A year ago I went to remove the pipe from the manifold and the manifold broke. I can see it had been cracked. Because of this I would not recommend using that type of muffler. I was out using my one row cultivator yesterday and thought of this post. Then I started wondering "How the heck did the thing come off?". I then realized that your cultivator is missing the two support arms that clamp onto the back of the lift mechanism. Here is a photo I found on the web that shows them:  |
