Good tractor.It is like the series III 190`s, make sure it don`t jump out of any gears.

Burgie: Assume the third gear is the one to check? This 200 is an open station with a heavy duty three point hitch. Would be using this on a 25 acre field for plowing.

Usually 3rd but check them all when going down hill.

Heres my experience with a 200 tractors ; they are good machines but the gear jumpout seems worse ; 3 rd gear especially ; i,ve redone 3 Powerdirectors this spring , all on 200,s ; all the same hi side broken clutch plates , an ole AC mechanic once said to put them in 3 rd gear , low side , open it up and stand on the brakes ; it should kill the engine providing the brakes are good !! Also the brakes ;;;;; if they are adjusted correct , they are great , a little out of wack and they suck , i,ve found that lot of the time the brake housing fills up with dust , dirt and brake dust and that screws them up ; check the POWERDIRECTOR linkage close ; it has to be tight ; a little play and the cluthes slip and bam ;; major slipping ; good luck , most of these are priced right 2500-4500 and make good tractors !!

Another thing , see if it been overhauled, meaning engine ; these engines seemed more suseptable to the electrolicess issues ; the sleeves get pits in them eventually leaking water into the clyinders

Great machine!! check the things said in the post but we have run them and have had good luck with them. If they do need work they are easy to work on, Parts seem to be easy to get yet. Good luck!

We had one on the farm it was a good machine we worked the tar out of it. The late ones are the tractor of my choice, They have better brakes and an updated pd . And with what I do to the one I have now and it stays together have to be ok.
