I found a styled WC at my local scrap yard that is in very good condition. I am wondering if any of the core parts are interchangable with the 53' WD i have. i am planning on pulling all of the tin from the WC, just cuious if i should consider getting the entire tractor for some extra parts. the biggest problem with it is, it has no tires on it so i will need to get creative with unloading. please let me know what you think. i can have anything i want off of it for .25 a pound... i do know that the motor isnt locked up...

the parts that will interchange, grille shell, radiator, hood, motor, Front hubs, Front pedistal, Transmission gears if it is an early WD, Fenders with some modification, Steering wheel, Headlights, Air cleaner, Starter maybe,
otherwise they are a total different tractor.

At $0.25 a pound, I think I would leave it where it sits. You can by a running WC with tires for that.

Yow! I did as Rfdeere mentioned and purchased a running WC with a rebuilt engine and tires that held air for $475. It was a large AC auction just a couple months back, too. If there are some specific parts you really need, 25 cents per pound is a good price (magneto, carburetor, etc.) but not for the whole tractor.

i am thinking the fenders, hood, carb, manifold and oil pan. the fenders and hood on this thing are in sweet shape. the radiator and shroud are already missing. i would say that you got a pretty good deal for 475 though...

If I were in your shoes I would get some of the parts that you mentioned and with the fenders I would trade them to someone for some peachy WD fenders because it would be a shame to use the perfect WC fenders by cutting off the mounting brackets, but then again it does depend on how much you value a styled WC. When you're talkjng WC's they sure did alot on Americas farms for the small farmers like my Dad, and Grandfathers farms. Just thinking out loud as most collectors normally don't place alot of value on a WC.

I might give trading the fenders a shot. It really doesn't matter to me if I use WC or WD fenders on my tractor. But I do like your point of letting someone use them for what they should be used for.
