I took the hood and nose off my WD45 to work on it and it looked like some misc. hardware was used. I am ready to reassemble now and I have a couple questions. #1 the two bolts on the top of the hood that go into the nose were self tapping slotted screws. Was that original or should they be hex head bolts? #2 same question only for the bottom side bolts on the nose (the ones under the WD45 decal )? TIA, Dave

On mine, they were 1/4-20 Round head slotted machine screws, same for the side screws.  I am not going to say absolutely for sure it is stock, but I think it is.

Upon strained eye inspection of some factory photos, I can't tell for sure, but it did bring back the thought that they had over sized heads on them, so they didn't need a washer, so the standard round head or PAN head screw of today, won't be right.  I wan't to say the head was near 1/2" wide, maybe even 5/8", but the height was only 3/16" maybe a 1/4"

They are suposed to be slotted head 5/16 machine screws. they should have nuts welded to the radiator shell.

Thanks. Unfortunately 2 of mine a mangled beyond use and the other 2 I had to grind flat sides and use vise grips to get out.
