I'm gonna go and buy a new voltage regulator and I wanted to know if the generator mounted regulators are better or the ones that sit below the generator (which is mine). Also is it too difficult to replace it.
Thanks Peter

The little box that was original to the B and mounted on the genny, was a cut out relay and needs a 3 position switch with a resistor to work properly. If it has been converted to a voltage regulator, it should be no problem to switch out the old one for a new one. There are different styled regulators also. You're gonna have to match up to what you have to make it simple to change.
