I know the manual say SAE 20W for the trans/hydraulics but I have went to Advance, Auto Zone, Napa in Redhook NY, Napa in Millerton NY, Brick Block Auto parts in Millerton NY, Napa in Hudson NY and Carquest. I can not find SAE 20W anywhere. Can I just run 30w or will that be to thick in cold weather for the Hydraulic pump? Thanks

Just get "Universal Tractor Fluid". Better than motor oil. Thats what's been in mine for 15 years.

When we sold them new Pop and I swore by non-detergent 20W oil.  Worked fine for us.  In fact we liked veedoil.  Don't make it anymore.
On this site I have heard outstanding results from using the newer oils such as Universal Tractor Fluid listed above.
Frankly, hearing the reports it seems this is the best for your B, my favorite.
Take good care of it.
Good Luck!

While we're on this topic, any tips for changing the trans fluid in a B for a newbie?

Thanks for the replies. I filled it with the universal tractor trans/hydraulic fluid. Here is a pic of her on her maiden voyage through the barnyard after a a full on engine rebuild and clutch.

Great picture!
You know, to me the B is a timeless tractor.  Always seems to look new even though it is over 70 years old.  Great design.
Thanks for taking such good care of my favorite.
Good Luck!
