How many on here have pulled 3-4 bottom pull type plows on WD45's an or D17's. Dad found that if you had fluid and weights they could be pulled just as fast as SC plows of the same size. My Uncle pulled a 4-14" MH pull type plow for years with his 45. Fluid in rears along with 3 weights in the furrow wheel and 4 weights in the land wheel, Front wheel weights on the front. Not sandy soils but clay loam. Just curious.

My uncle used to say that my grandfather had a hoped up WC that he pulled either 3-14's or 3-16's with. I can't remember which.

Hi Jim. I pulled Oliver 3 x 14 with the 170 last fall in some of the hardest clayground I have. I wished they were 4 bottom most of the time. I have a couple spots where I don't care what you have the tractor will just stop forward travel and spin. But those 2 spots are about the size of a house foundation and can not be worked!

I've got a 3-16 IH pull type that I pull with my series I D17. I put new shares and shins on it and plowed the garden, I need to put weights on it now as it slips in the tough stuff but the plow goes in and stays in the ground better now. The same tractor plays with a 4-14 snap coupler plow at the same depth.

My Dad used to pull a 3-14 pull type with our WD45 with calcium in the tires and wheel weights. That was long before my time.

I've got a 2 bottom WD pick up plow (pin hitch) that my WD plays with, and I've got a #2 pull type 2 bottom it can't pull. When that plow goes in the ground the tractor just spins or if it gets traction it will kill the motor. The #2 is a hard pull for the D17 or my buddies M and it has the the same bottoms as the WD plow. I think the hitch needs set differently but still it's a real boat anchor.

The WC pulls an IHC #8 2-14 wth no weight added.

I plowed with a John Deere #55 (3-14's) pull type plow this spring with my WD45. Done real good in the lighter soil, but got into some good ole heavy clay and had a lot of traction slippage. No fluid in rear tires, but I've got 2 sets of wheel weights. Plowed in second gear. Pleanty of power, just not enough weight. Have a 2-16 no. 82 S-C plow, and plays with that. Fred
