Noticed a leak on my steering gear.  Any one know the best way to fill and adjust the "steering gear," (one that is painted over).  I checked the aftermarket I & T but the information is lacking.

Am I effed?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Skuter

Skuter, it is a Ross steering gear. Pretty simple to adjust. Bearing are adjusted by removing shims. The cross levershaft is adjusted with a set screw in housing cover plate. You must adjust it while  turning wheel to extremes right and left. It will get tight at the extremes, because of less wear. If your pin is worn out, I can fix that. HTH Tracy

If needed I can e-mail you a scan of that gear box, it breaks down the parts very well.
