We have a 1946 B that we are redoing and need to know if the orginal rims were all orange or if that year had the silver rims.  This tractor has been in the family since new but no one can remember the color.  It has a straight adjustable axle.  Thanks

My 1945 C had galvanized rims so I'm pretty sure the b was also.

First, Congratulations on obtaining my favorite Allis Chalmers Tractor the B.
As to the rim question the answer from freewheelin is correct.  The rims were galvanized.
Let us know how it goes with your B.  You will find they are a very dependable, very adaptable, and fun tractor.  Easy to work on.
Good Luck!

Thnaks, The tractor has been on the farm since new but has not been operational since the early 80's.  Dad is going to make it a show piece not farm with it.  Leave the working to the 45 and the 170, and the New Holland TD95D.

Front rims on the B were all orange, Rear rims were galvanized, however many people find that galvanized rims are expensive so many people tend to paint them silver.
