I purchased my 1961 D-15 hi-crop tractor a long time ago, with 26" wheels and tires on it. Sits very low in rear. A few years ago, i found original adjustable 38" wheels for it. Fast forward to now and I am finally ready to purchase tires. I want to make sure I get the right tires. Measured my wheels tonight and they measure 11.2 across the rim width, measuring from inside the rim "lip". So does this mean I need to get the 11.2-38 tires? Reason I ask is when I enter this tire on the Firestone Ag website, it lists the rim width as 10". Just trying to make sure I'm looking for and ordering the right tires for the wheels I have! I believe a D15 should either have 11.2-38 or 12.4-38 tires on it. I have 13.6-38 on my D15 high crop. Can you post any pictures of your high crop? ------------- Unless your are the lead horse the scenery never changes!! |

The 13.6-38 tires that were also an option on this tractor, when entered in the http://www.firestoneag.com/en/tire-finder/search-Ag-Flotation.aspx" rel="nofollow - Firestone Ag website, lists a rim width of 12". I need to get back out and check, but that may be my rim outer width from outer edge to outer edge. So...maybe those are the tires I really need?! Tom ------------- 1961 D-15 Hi-Clearance |

Thanks for the info. That chart is interesting. I guess my main trouble is understanding how to measure rim width in relation to how those charts denote rim width. Want to make sure I get it right. So here's a picture I took of the wheel. Is this the way to measure it?! Outside to outside. This results in about a 12-1/4" measurement. Is this it? Thanks, yes 12.4-38" it is. In looking at these tires, I've found some saying "tubeless". I figured there was a tube. I'm guessing that depends on the rim. I assume I'd need a tube? Eric, Nice to see that photo again! I actually have that photo saved on my computer from years and years ago from the previous AC forum at this site. My tractor is absolutely no match for yours and looks quite beat up and silly with the 26" wheels on her now. But I often check out that photo and dream about what mine can look like some day!
