Paid $625 counting shipping for this salvaged RC. Looks to have potential. Does have a stuck engine but overall not to bad considering it's age. Too much? Your thoughts.

| looks good 2 me for that money. 4 tires that hold air and reasonably straight tin. gonna be worth that in parts if you don't try to save it. Who knows the engine may free up with a little elbow grease then you'll be way ahead of the game. |

| We picked one up a few years ago # 5017 . we restored ours after a engine rebuild.Fun tractor. You get up on that seat the tractor seems small conpaired to the Wd45. |

John...Yes, that was me after a looong drive.
Steve...3 tires are usable, 2 front and 1 rear. I will need rear rims. Tires will all need to be replaced after restore.

My RC came with the spoked wheels on the rear which were shot. Got a nice set though to replace the shot ones. Still have to glassbead them yet... Good Luck! Looks like a great start! Steve@B&B |

| I paid $900 for one not much better than that, the rims on a RC are suposed to be raised rib-- Norm Meimert has the correct ones. that is a late one as they only went to about 5500 I parted one out and sold the ring and pinion set to a tractor puller for $500 some years back. Tom Foss had a excelent article in the upper AC club news letter about all the special items the RC's had, it would be good if you could get a copy to help you out!! |

Yours looks as good as mine did when I got it. Every later RC I see has two notches, and there are too many for all of them to have been changed out with WC wheels. So your rear wheel centers are most likely correct. |

| The B or C engine will bolt right up in an RC, but the serial number on the engine beginning in CE or BE would be a giveaway that it wasn't there from the factory. The RC engine serial number begins with R. |

Tom is right on the serial #s. The blocks for RCs start with an R. I have an RC that ends with K on the block #, for the kerosene model. | tom, i'm with you on the wheel centers. both of my rc's have the two hole centers, and i've seen a number of others that way as well. can't imagine that wheel centers were ever changed out very much. |

Nice save! To answer the question about the engine. Any BE, CE, or B125 power unit engine will freely interchange. However to be correct the block should be the early BE type without generator mounting holes in the block & as previously stated RCs had their own unique engine numbers stamped in the left upper bellhousing flange. Actually later D-series 138, 149, & 160 cid engines go in an RC really easy & would make a good 2750-3250lb. puller. Again congrats on getting this one & good luck!
