I will be posting this under classifieds, but this part of the forum gets much more interest.
I will spare you the sad tale (for once) and just state that I need an IB torque tube. Will consider parts tractors also. Western PA, Northern Ohio, Dark side of the Moon, don't care, let me know what you have and or can part with. Dave

It must be a VERY sad tale. I know it would be if it happened to me!

I have been looking for one also! If you find two I would like to get one. Didn't intend on hijacking your thread.

No offense taken Joe. Is your's broken in the same spot? seems like the only weak place on the tube.

Thanks Dave, a pic is worth a thousand words and stick drawings are even better (at least for me!)
Could you not find a cast iron Vulcan who could make it better than new? you did say it was the weakest spot.
I promise if I find 2 I'll send you one (collect shipping).
Good luck.

Repair method for broken stabilzer tang - anyone tackled repair of this cast iron part? Have seen several B and C's with this stabilizer tang broken, must have come from rough treatment of these fine machines.
Cast Iron Repair might be an option if you cannot find a torque tube.

This being a tractor forum, could it have been "Big Bud"?

I am underwhelmed by the out pour of sympathy. Yes Steve, Buda was definitely
from the "Dark Side". From what I read, Joe needs one. Since SteveC said if he finds two he will keep one, I have a feeling there is a story there. In the last few days, I have designed 5 different possible repairs, each one being more complicated and expensive than the last. I think the fix would work on B, C, and CA tubes as well, although replacements for those are still pretty inexpensive. I even have a solution that would shorten a B tube. The fix would be easy except for that *&%$ flywheel in the way. Sooooooooo, if some of you would send me pictures of your broken tang and tube, I will try a prototype fix that will work for all of us. (Except Fred, He drinks Tang and swears his tube is just bent, not broken.)

I thought Fred said his tube is shaken not stired..... Oh, never mind, that was James Bond. My mistake. BTW Dave, you need to stay away from people from the Dark side. Its not healthy...

No story behind my offer Dave, I'm doing an IB format B with a std. torque tube, but have no real dreams of finding one shorty let alone two!
