| There is a D19 for sale here in CT, Firmly priced at $5500. Includes 4 row SC planter. It is 2nd owner, cared for, working properly engine,trans. Turbo, never had any major engine work, still in work clothes, sheded, etc. Tires worn, set of front plate weights, I guess this reasonable. I feel it is at "upper" end of price point, thus hard to justify the purchase. unless you really like them. Is this price where it should be?? |

Tires are big money. A set of front weights is a plus, not needing to overhaul it is a BIG plus, planter is a plus. How bad are the tires? What do you want to do with it?If I didn't have one and it was in IL. I'd be interested. I bought mine a long time ago, gave $3500 for it. Used it to mow roads, run augers and do chores for several years, then I overhauled it, painted it and put new rubber on it. I could have bought a pretty nice 185 for what I spent fixing it up. LOL If rou can live with the tires I'd say he's about right, if they'll need immediate replacement then I'd get some local bids on paper and take a them and try to negotiate. not sure what to tell you? i know of a local d-19 d with new paint,decals, all new rims and tires and had a low hour 262d out of a combine installed. it's a show piece, $7,500. ------------- D-19 gas w/f-sold 185-d yr round cab 95 mustang gt 5.0 86 mustang 5.0 coupe 3 99 f-250 7.3 4x4's 96 f-250 7.3 4x4 |

Value is in direct proportion to the desires of the buyer and the seller. The more you want something, the higher the price you will pay and the sellers frequently think they need more money to sell something. -- for reasons like they want to get out what they put in (not usually gonna happen). it's a rare item (maybe) really don't care if it sells, but if somebody will pay top dollar, I'll take all I can get (frequently) ---- So what's this D19 worth--- Consider how bad do you want it and how far away is it? To me, being close is worth a couple dollars. Plus - turbo, weights, the planter (only if you can use it - selling it may not bring what you have in it and may take a while) - minus tires - yes the are expensive - but will the current ones work for your needs for a while.? having said all that (I love the D19's) -- I'd say this is priced at top dollar - I'd try to get it down in the $4800 range -- but how firm is firm and how bad do you want it? Certainly not a bargain -- tires would possibly be a negotiating point. Still - I could sleep OK at night at his price if everything checks out to be operating good (including the planter)

| chris. would be intrested in the planter if its old school. assume its a dry box type with fertilizer attachment. could be used for corn or beans. can you send a pic? as far as price, corn binder boy is right. we looked at a trailer queen thats actually field ready with a replacement pinion and ring gear having been installed and a factory 3 pt. for 7.5k asking price, here in ohio. this unit would do a lot of work and its probably going to be fairly trouble free. the price on 19's has to go up. because of their size, they are not prime show machines yet and for the occasional fall/ spring garden plow up they can be akward when a 2 or 3 bottom is called for. the 19's are kinda like having a red headed orphan kid with 6 toes around. what do you do with them? ..........yea we bought our gasser plenty cheap. it drinks gas like it has a no conscience, but that thing will yank a 4x16 sc or a 12 ft disc and not break a stride. its a brute compared to the smaller d's or the old w's. i would describe the 19's as a diamond in the rough. what your requirements and plans for a tractor are will dictate the price your're probably willing to pay. |
