I used to know this but ive forgot. What year did AC start puting the Snap Coupler hitch? And was it the module B they first put it on?

1953 on the WD45 as best I can remember. ------------- Most problems can be solved with the proper application of high explosives. |

Not aware of any Module B tractor. !953 on the first Model WD-45 for sure. Probably 1953 for Model CA also. Gary

Actually thr first 6000 WD-45's did not have a snap coupler. I'm sure most were retrofitted. CA got the snap coupler at the same time. I'm not sure if the rare snap coupler on a B was factory installed or a dealer installed item but there are a few out there. ------------- Nothing is impossible if it is properly financed |

You could have a B come with factory snap coupler, not sure if it was first though. ------------- 1950 B, 1952 pulling wd, and 1954 wd45 |

| Actually Calvin, the snap coupler became standard equipment after the first approx. 6000 tractors, but it was available on all WD-45's. I doubt that many were sold without SC. dave |

I don't have a snap-coupler on my C but I am curious how it looks and functions. Can someone post a photo of a snap-coupler so that I can see what advantages it provides. I am always amazed by the advertising hype over simple, obvious things; like the "Quick Hitch" on Lawn/Yard/Garden tractors. It's just a hole in a piece of metal that sticks out the back of the tractor, to which you place your implement tongue, with matching hole, and stick a pin through. |

| Snap Coupler Components were only avalible for the B in a dealer add-on kit. Some may have been sold "new" with snap coupler, but it was something the dealer most likely did for the customer. It was never a "factory option" but rather a "dealer option". |

| Sorry for the no post. You have to type in your reply prior to hitting the enter key. I am not sure the first year the snap coupler came out, but my Dad got a new 1954 B and it came with the snap coupler, a snap coupler 2 plow (14 inch) bottom plows, a 6 foot snap coupler disc. It also came with the 2 peice cultivators. The 1949 B he had did not have the snap coupler attachment. |

S/C became standard equipment for the WD45 in 1953 starting with serial# 151381. ------------- been there done that, not doing it again... |
