71-year-old man killed in Johnson County, Mo., tractor accident

71-year-old Centerview, Mo., man was killed when he was thrown from his tractor on a steep decline and the tractor ran over him in a rural area north of Holden, Mo.
John E. Lee was killed in the accident that was reported about 7:40 p.m. Wednesday in an area near Northwest County Road 50 and Northwest County Road 1201 in rural Johnson County, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.
Lee was driving an Allis-Chalmers tractor on a steep decline when the tractor had mechanical difficulties. He lost control and struck a tree, throwing him from the tractor.
The tractor then ran over him. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the highway patrol.
