I have a possible lead on a 160 Allis that was parked about 15 years ago under a shed.  Has not been run since.  I don't think it was "stored" properly, just parked and not used any more.  Don't know if the motor is stuck.  I am told it is all complete.  Tires appeared to be up somewhat (not completly flat)  in the pictures I was sent.

Probably can get it for scrap iron price but it is 8 hrs away, so I'll have a couple hundred dollars extra in fuel if I go get it.

What would be worst case scenario on a deal like this?  motor stuck= needing built?  What about the fuel system; pump - lines - injectors?

Would it be possible to get it running without a shop full of tools, if it ain't stuck, at least enough to load it without winching?  (I'm thinking purging the fuel system somehow w/ fresh fuel...)?

I understand the little 160 was built by Renault; are parts available?  Is everything metric on these tractors?

Sorry for the long winded post, just wonderin'...

I'm not an expert on these but we purchased a 160 last fall.  I believe everything is metric.  Some parts are more challenging than others to find, but if you are creative and check other suppliers besides AGCO, you can usually find what you need.  Also price around if possible....we have seen a big difference in prices among suppliers for these.  Sometimes you will have to go outside the farm equipment world and get parts from Mcmaster-Carr, etc.  My father is also a machinest and he has had to make a few things that aren't available.  Can't really tell you much about getting it running from that condition.  Good luck.
