220 injection pump ? DR Allis?

I bought a 220 with a compete rebuilt engine and pump that has sat for about 8 years.

The engine is now in a 210. We have fuel in the pump, the pump is turning, but nothing to the injectors. What should we be looking for ? I do have a former A-C mechanic with 30 years experience working on it.

He needs to attach a 100 lb gauge to the bottom of the transfer pump end section...1/8" pipe threads.....and see if it is making any pressure while cranking. My gut feeling is the metering valve and or all the plungers are gummed up and stuck. You might consider pull starting it with another tractor and get the engine spinning faster than the starter can turn it. If you get it spinning 1000 rpm the power steering will work pretty darn good.

Calvin you can also take the top of the pump off where the 3 5/16 screw headed bolts are and play with the spring and arm in the pump to free it up have seen some pumps get gummed up from sitting ussuallyI take the side cover off and drain the fuel then fill the top with penatrating oil and leave sit over night frees it up 60% of the time just what we done Niel

if its stuck & gummed up from sitting many years, the worst thing you can do is let it start! It needs to be torn down and soaked to free everything up. then work injectors over too. The last thing you want is to seize the pump up. Stanadyne has been slow at filling backorders on heads for over a year now! Treat it like it's the last one left! LOL! Good luck, Ed.

Thanks guys. Pulled the pump and injectors today and their off the the injection shop.

Pretty rusty inside the top.
