OK guys I need some help, our 8030 if stalled when hot will not start without excessive cranking. I am fairly certain that this just started last spring sometime. I remember now my brother telling me about it so I tried to start it at idle, with some throttle and with lots of throttle no change just had to crank till it finally starts. Our 8050 given the same conditions will start back up with the turn of the key, as a side note both tractors start great when cold. We also had the pump rebuilt less than two years ago. The question is what could be causing this problem? Thanks in advance for any help m rieger, swoh

usually that's an indication the head in the pump is worn. When you stall it, tractor/fuel is very hot & thin. If it starts once cooled down for a bit, that is a place to start. Another thought is the excess fuel device operated by oil pressure from engine. It could still be out in the run position instead of in the start fuel position. The start fuel device takes a few minutes to retract.

Thanks guys, the pump was rebuilt less than two years ago is this something that can be fixed on the tractor or does it need to be taken off and go back to the pump shop. Thanks m rieger

Timing ????????? My 8030 was very hard starting warm after I had to pump work done. It ending up being out of time slightly. I wasn't the one that adusted the timing so not sure on details.

Thanks very much guys the tractor is back at our local AGCO dealer having some other issues looked at so I will bring them up to date on these ideas thanks again m rieger.
