I've seen some guys talking about the ''cost reduced'' 200, i'm going to look at a 200 today, (for the second time) I'll post pics later if I can get it figured out, new to the forum, and I was just curious if any one knows what serial number/or year that those tractors fell under ? Thanks.

I think all the talk of a "cost reduced 200" is a bunch of crap. The later 200's did have a different PD control (which is much easier to shift),different brakes(which are very easy to service) and mine has dual engine oil filters(not sure if all 200's had them) and inner and outer air filters(again not sure if all 200's had them. It has been posted that the front support was hollow instead of solid(like on 190XT ser.3),but I think all 200's were like that. So until someone can prove that ther really was a "cost reduced version",I don't believe it. The changes made on the later models were upgrades in my opinion.

According to Norms book the cost reduced 200 started in 1973 at serial number 4001 and ran to serial number 11521 - in 1975 , then the 7000 took over , theres a difference , had both for a while , now have none except for XT,s !! A 7000 is a better choice , little heavy for the power but more speeds at least

I have must have seen a few cost reduced 200's, they have the fuel gauge on the tank? no electric one in the dash.
