I am looking to replace the fenders on an old (1951) WD. Appears one can get what appears to be repro ones for around $150/each. Are they flimsy? What might I expect to pay for factory fenders off an old machine? I found some on Ebay but not sure how much to bid up to. Any input?

Most places say they are the same gauge as the originals....never bought or seen one in person to know for sure though.

We have sold them for years and I have handled them personally and been very happy with quality. Can't speak for what everyone else sells, but what we have been selling has been very good quality. I just sold one locally and a customer converted it to the IB fender and was very pleased. Looking forward to seeing it in local show in a few weeks. JimD

I bought a couple sets of the repro fenders. One set was a bit wavy, but my body man messaged them out okay. The other set were pretty good. As far as the gauge is concerned, they weren't flimsy. One set my body man transformed into IB fenders for my IB. They came out pretty nice. Here's a pic of the IB set.
