Did the original Allis Chalmers B's have white amp gauges with Allis Chalmers written on them, or were they all black and just say Amperer. Specifically the 1950 model. Any advice appreciated, thanks!

Black face with a 20-0-20 range is the norm.

Did they originally say Allis Chalmers on them?

It should look something like this, this is the original from a 1948 wc  Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I would expect that they were the same.  I haven't seen an original black face with allis chalmers on it.  That doesn't mean they don't exist.

redwood is correct, that is what your amp gauge should look like. But just remember, it is your Allis not ours. you do with it how you choose. I have found as much as you would think Allis was standard on many things, I have found through the years that Delco verses Autolite electrical systems, decal placement, galvanized or non galvanized rims, and gauges have been something that is a constant debate among us guys on here.

I gave up a while back convincing folks they didnt need the white face with All on the face. So i sell them both.

It's interesting that the temp. and oil pressure guages all seemed to have Allis-Chalmers on the face, I've never seen an original pre-D-series tractor with an ampmeter so marked?!Wink
