Any specific reasons why the intake gasket blew out at the back of the intercooler/head on my 8050? I replaced the gasket when I overhauled the engine 650 hours ago. It was an after market gasket. I will replace it with a gasket from Agco. Anything extra I should do when reassembling? The tractor is running 165 hp, so not building extreme boost. Thanks Steve

I glue the gasket to the manifold (intercooler) with weatherstrip adhesive, then put grease on the other side so manifold can be removed if needed, and can move around due to differing expansion and contraction rates of the iron and aluminum. Also helps to retorque bolts after a few heat and cool cycles.

I always glue to the intercooler with 3M 8001 yellow (Gorilla snot) adhesive and then RTV silicone to the head, which usually allows removal later. Yes, retorque the bolts at the first 100 hrs. They always seem to blow just above the starter.

The inercooler being taller gets more vibration causes it to work the gasket then blowes it out. Like the others say glue and check bolts from time to time. MACK
