I'll be of no help and say, polish them. Makes for a little detail in a finished project but may not be original.

Aircraft skin is aluminum, the paint does'nt fly off. Sorry I can't tell you where to buy it, or what it is. Just my first thought. |

I've had very good luck with PPG DPLF series of epoxy primer. It comes in different colors to match the paint application. For A-C persian, i'd use DP50LF Grey. It takes less paint to cover a lighter primer. The "LF" stands for "Lead Free", so it's enviromentally friendly. It also is good if you spray the part, then let it sit for a while. You just scuff it a little, and apply the desired paint. ------------- Pre-WW2 A-C tractors on steel wheels...because I'm too cheap to buy tires! |

Thanks for the help guys I found the zink chromate online at west marine but first I'll try NAPA. Next question should I reprime with regular primer before painting? I hope I don't have problems with chemical reaction with the paint.
