Bought a b today. I think it is a 1939. Someone changed the torque tube and put a starter on it. Not real pretty. Real nice rear rims. One new tire.Riveted front rims. Clean metal.Belly mower. Runs fantastic. Homemade backrest that works decent but I have a stock one to stick on it. Pretty happy with my purchase.

I don't think mine has a place to mount a generator on the engine.  Was wondering if it has a BE or CE block.  Tim

Edit:  Oh yeah it looks a lot better than mine.  Won't take a lot to make it a really nice tractor.

I'm guessing a CE block, doesn't matter, nice looking tractor.

I was wondering about that too. I got home late and didn't check. Where are the engine numbers located again?

I paid 700.00 bucks for it. Really runs great. brakes need work and typical sloppy steering.

Engine # should be on the flange that bolts to the torque tube right back from the air cleaner.

Nice find Jesse. If the engine number isn't on the flange, look on the back center of the block for a rectangle pad. You'll probably need a light to see it there.

Excellent buy for that price. What makes you think it is a 1939 ?

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Serial number is b12... something. close to my other 39

Yeah, plus the riveted rims indicate late '38 or early '39, if I remember right. My '39 B is B14514. That's one cushy looking seat you have there.

I was wondering that too. It looks like it's a lot lighter-duty than my Woods L306.

WJohn beat me to it. I was going to say that it is way to much money for a tractor that doesn't have wheel bolts on the front rims. Very straight tin workwork. A great looking tractor. Does it still have the tail light?

It looks kind of like my Sunmaster.

Glockhead,  Thanks for giving my favorite a good home.  I know you will take good care of it.
Really not a bad looking unit.  Little extra bonus since you have a starter on it.
Thanks again for saving another of my favorite Allis-Chalmers Tractors.
Good Luck!
