| or if I ever get the XTIII going I will use tiller on it. Any opinions on 3 point tillers, 6 feet wide? Woods are nice but are around 4000 bucks for a 6 footer. First Choice, Taylor-Way and Land Pride all have 6 footers for about 2000$. I used to have a 7 foot Howard and it was indestructable but that one is long gone. | I had a Ford-New Holland 52 inch roto-tiller at one time that did the best job of any tiller I've ever seen, but like a dumb-$*%!, I traded it away. I've bought a different brand back (I can't even think of the brand name of it), and it takes way more power to run, and doesn't do near as good of a job as the Ford-New Holland did. I don't know if Ford-New Holland manufactured it themselves, or just bought it and badged it, but it was a good one. Maybe you can't even get one like it anymore, I'm not sure. I run a Howard on my 175D....it gets a workout. Last year I tilled almost 100 gardens and finally ran a bearing out of the one I had been using for 10 years. That was a good record for our soil! I had a spare and used it for awhile, also found another on CraigsList, swapped some parts and now have two good ones again. Parts are hard to find, but you rarely need them...I saw one that looked in great shape on CL for $550 a couple of weeks ago, but it was already sold and had only been posted for 30 minutes!  For the big work, I use the 190XT and this 8' Northwest. They are still being made west of here in Yakima WA and are considered one of the best out there, but you will pay for the quality. Reconditioned ones can be bought for about $1000 a foot...I haven't priced out a new one! When it comes to tillers, you usually get what you pay for.....  ------------- ALLIS EXPRESS! This year: |

| Father-in-law had a Howard for 20yrs in a strawberry patch and never tore it up.Did put a new drive shaft on it late.He could tear up an anvil with a rubber hammer. |

Captain Dana, I really like the Maschio brand for durability and performance!
Have had mine for 16 years with out any problems.I see 1 listed in New Hampton New York for sale. 65 inches for a 30 to 40 hp tractor.
