did a complete tune up on my d15 series II. points,plugs ,wires, cap, rotor button, condenser. tractor started backfiring like a rife going off. checked timing-ok checked point gap-ok checked firing order-ok.put old condenser back in and it worked perfect. blew snow for an hour. went to use tractor today and started  backfiring again. i assme its the condenser again.why would it blow two condensers or could it be something else. need help   thanks  smitty

Make sure your points are clean and the cap is dry inside!

I would guess that it has nothing to do with your condenser. Sounds to me like the advance is sticking/ not moving as it should.  That or the shaft is sloppy in its bearing.
 
You can take hold of the rotor and see how easy it will moves the advance if at all.

Could be a bad spark plug. A misfiring plug will allow unburned fuel to enter the muffler and ignite making the explosion. Combustion is supposed to take place in the cylinder, not the muffler... LOL!
