 Questions
Were the 4 bump 8" rear rims the only OEM style rims available on Standard Bs and Cs after the C was put in full production in 1941? Were the 8" rear rims, we rarely see from time to time, with the continious raised bead around the entire drop center a AC OEM too or just another style aftermarket replacement rim for Bs and Cs ?
May be looking for a real good solid pair of "4 BUMP" 8 inch rear rims for the correct cloning of the War department B under construction near Austin TX. Jim C is trying to get this special OD Green B as right as possible to replicate one of the 96 Bs the War Department bought to help us win WWII.

| The 4 bump were only used on the early B. The continous bump was standard for most of the production. I don't know when the change happened. My 39 & 40 B's had 4 bump but my 47 B has continous bead, along with both of my C's. Early B's & C's had an 8" rim and later ones had a 9" rim. Bob |

I'm quite familiar with the early B rim changes from the first split rims of 37 and 38 with their special clamps and the next change in 38 into 39 with no bumps used with 3/4 bolt footed clamps. Then on to the 4 bump rims along about 1940 using the standard 5/8 bolt clamps used for the rest of production. I have seen the 4 bumps in widths of 6, 7 and 8 inches. Seeing those with the continious raised clamping bead has been a rare experience for me leading me to believe they were aftermarket replacements. I have never owned or worked on a B or a C with anything but the 3 I'm familiar with. I have a pile of junk 4 bumps off of parted out B and C tractors but none with the continious raised bead.
I find it interesting that the continious bead rims were standard on late production Bs and Cs and are no longer available new. Or are they? Don't guess I ever saw a 9 inch 4 bump either on anything I parted out.
JimC may be interested in trading the pair of 8" late production continious bead for a pair of early production 8" 4 bumps.
