For some reason I never thought about it until I read a post tonight about seeing a single wheel B. Some one corrected them saying it was probably a C. I then realized I never saw a NF B before. I take it A/C never made one. There were a few made..............but not at the Allis Factory.
Like the C tractor on e-bay now with the B arched wide front, it was real easy to
split the Bs and Cs and switch halves.

The Model B was designed and marketed as a single row crop tractor whereas the Model C was wider and designed and marketed as a two row crop tractor. Only makes sense that a narrow front end on a single row tractor would not work out. Yeah, what Tim said. I believe DickL has one, but it is a sister to the one Glenn has(meaning it has an early C frontend under it). Bs and Cs had several differences, despite sharing engines, hoods, transmissions, and some other components. They had different finals, different hubs(on earlier models), different fenders, and the radiator shroud. Also, the steering boxes were reversed. If you put a B steering box on a C, the wheels would turn left when you turned the steering wheel right. Would be vice-versa if you put C steering box on a B. Some folks found this out the hard way. That is one obstacle to overcome when making a NF B. You would need to change the steering box as well as the front end from the engine forward. ------------- I didn't do it! It was a short, fat, tall, skinny guy that looked like me! |

There was NEVER a factory made narrow front B. However, some have taken a C narrow front or single front and put it on a B. As said above the B was a one row tractor. Good Luck! Bill Long |
