Has anyone out there swapped out the rubber on a set of all crop 40 cylinder bars? I am wondering if I could take some baler belts, cut them down and use liquid nail or some form of caulking glue to hold them on. I was also curious if there was a strip or two of rubber inside the cylinder housing. I see two solid bars on the bottom of the housing, but they are only approximately 3/8" so attaching rubber to those could be interesting. Any information would be greatly appreciated...also if anyone needs oak parts for an ac40 I'm in the process right now so doing a few more wouldn't be too big of an issue.

Don, do you recal what you used for adhesive or did you rivet the rubber on? Also does the rubber on the cylinder bars sit flush with the edges? I'm looking for the most practical (not to mention cheapest) way to get this beast back in the field. I sent a message to the All-Crop gods to get their recommendations and prices if need be.

I think Don means he bought the bars from Tom or Gary. He didn't redo his bars.

Don, What does Gary have ? I don't see any All Crop parts on his site ?

you might as well use tomato paste as an adhesive.the rubber is vulcanized to the cylinder bars.might ck aroung and see if you can find a company that does that sort of repair...

I have always wondered if lagging that is used on drive pulleys for grain legs would work. It is glued and bolted on the pulley.

I'm going have to get creative on the bars, If my wife found out what a new set cost she would take half of my collection and sell it to the scrap yard to pour salt in the wound. I'm either going to try some serious adhesive with bolts every three inches or my sister runs a body shop and another thought that crossed the mind was having her vortex the bars which would be something similar to rhino lining. Does anyone have any pictures of the rubber that bolts down to the housing? It looks like it would have to have a 90 degree angle to it in order to do any justice. Thanks again for the help.

On the 90 the concave bars were half round rubber.Don't need a 90deg angle to thresh
