Does anyone know how the grill screen is attached to the raditor shroud? No fasteners that I can see, is it spot weld, solder, braze? This is a model C (should be same as B and CA).
I bought a new screen, but now I see the sheetmetal shroud needs some rust repair and body work. Therefore everything is complicated based upon materials and techniques
used for that repair. Can't weld to Bondo.  Any advice?

the mesh needs to be welded into the grill shell. If you have rust holes just weld a patch into it. I cut the patch out of an old chevy truck floor. lay you patch over the hole and cut to match. use a couple magnets to hold inplace and weld then grind smooth. this old metal is quite durable and  will take alot of pounding. Bondo is not a repaire material. small holes can be bridged with your mig welder. just grind it down.

Welded, thanks. I think I can handle it. I usually use body filler only for rust pits on the pretty side of sheetmetal.
