I need a replacement tail light for a D-15 series II and I am wondering first, what was original equipment?  What it had recently (until the housing broke Wednesday night) was a 4" diameter flat backed red warning light which I assume is an aftermarket item.

I use this tractor a lot at night for clearing snow and need something on back for my visibility when using the snap coupler blade.  Although the broken light was only a red warning light it did give off enough light to iluminate things in back.

In the future I would like to have something more along the lines of a work light.  I looked at Fleet Farm and there were two choices for generic lights; would you guys recomend a flood type light or a trapezoidal?

Also, I see on ebay a combination work light and warning light on ebay for JD tractors, but I cannot tell the mounting method (I need a stud on the bottom).  After looking futher I see Steiner has one with a stud at the bottom and a selector switch on top, does anybody have one of these?

Part of me would like to still have a warning light as the farm is on a major two lane highway, but I only have room to mount one light and if I can only have one I would prefer a work light.  Looking for thoughts and ideas, thanks for the help.

Mike

We had a combination light on our D-14 when I was growing up, worked great.  Work light / red combo...with the switch on top, single stud mount.

Let us know how you make out with it. I need to rewire the lites on my D-15 II and I think im going to add some flashy lites. My rear lite looks ok but I dont know if it works or not. Brian S
