can you take a 2wd 8000 series tractor buy front wheel assist from a salvage yard and make a fwa tractor? and whatever the rest of the hardware, just wanderd if there was a removable plate on 2wd drives to put drive shaft.

No, the rear end housing is different. No side cover plate.  MACK

The parts book list diff housing #'s  for 2wd & fwa....rear housing.Trans hsg same for 2wd & fwa,p/s and pd respectivly. Probably not

If only you could, then we might ask if we could add it to a 7045, 7060, and 7080 as well. And how cool that would be. Don't hold me to it, but I think it tells in Norms book that 7000's were built with extra room just for future plans of FWA. I might have to do some reading tonight.
