Pictured below is the original gear plate from my 220 hydraulic pump (left) and a replacment I got from A&I (right) . There is a slight differance in them at the discharge end as you can seee. A&I says no problem works OK or they will take it back. Anyone have experiance with them? Not that much of a job to remove but non returnable once installed.

We'll sounds like they need to elaborate one or the other ? Will they take it back or not ?

Is the large hole at the bottom a oil passage ? How's it gonna work without that ?

Sorry, need to clean up my grammar.
A&I(actualy dealer for them) said they would take it back if I didnt want it but if I install it it is mine. They said they have sold many with no complaints. What appears to be a hole is just a stamp mark in bad light.

Well, if it doesn't work, a good Partsman or Dealership worth a hoot would take it back as a "defective part" and make their supplier eat it.

Looks like it should work Butch.  The part that does the work is the outside diameter.  It may have a little less capacity than the original.  Ist hard to buy good parts anymore, even the OEMs dont have quailty parts, they just dont care. I know a some instances on a hyd pump if you use the parts from the OEM, the pump will fail!!!

I have the same trouble with many aftermarket parts. I try and buy oem parts as often as I can . It is not just one of the aftermarket places it is all of them. There specifacations are off on most parts ,some work somework with modifacations and some don't work at all. Being in business I can't afford to work with junk and get machines back because of poor quality parts. Just my 2 cents.

Bet a nickle that new wear plates and backup rubbers would make a world of difference using the old guts. Mine had been run leaking by so long that it eroded one of the grooves in the aluminum hsg and wouldn't hold new backup rubber. Just a nickle mind ya.

I dont remember a difference like that, but I know on our XT series 3, I replaced the stock housing that had cracked with an A&I, and it worked just fine.

A little history on it. A previous genious type had removed and by-passed the hyraulic filter unit from the tractor. First thing we did was source and install the filter and change the fluids. We knew that wouldn't fix the pump but seemed like a logical first step. We then got into the pump and the usual wear parts you mentioned were trash plus the gears them selves which were BIG bucks and only available through AGCO.   We could see the housing was worn but the price quoted from AGCO was more on the order of  insane than simply over priced so we installed the new gears and wear plates and hoped for the best. This improved it but we still are not where we need to be.  My tractor has no 3 point but does have PTO which is a pump and sytem all to it's own as far as I can tell from my manuals? Differant from 3 point tractors and differant from flatbacks.
