How does this bevel gear come off?  I have the snap ring off (picture taken before), and have tried to pry on it.  I assume there is a key between the shaft and gear.  (This is side belt drive).  Is a special tool required?  Thanks!

Small arbor press might do it. If you don't have a way to press it off, maybe set it upright and heat the gear around the outside. It will probably fall off. ????

Take the shaft out and press it off.  MACK
