Found these today...  they are more orange than they look in this photo.  Each is about 1 x 4 inches.  Any ideas?

They look like The tags on my plow's mouldboard.

If memory serves me correctly yes they are parts tags.  We found them on new equipment - perhaps on Laport, WI, equipment.
Good Luck!

they are machinery bundle number tags.    New machinery came knocked down, the packing list told you what bundle number was what,  and in what sequence the parts go together.  Most of the time the tags were left on the machinery.  HTH

Thanks guys... learn something new every day on this forum.  Fred, my wife is used to finding orange parts all over the place around here, but she'd definitely have a problem with these if they were the first thing folks saw when they walk up to the front porch.

Hey murph, here is a pic of an allis steel part number tag, on a sprocket drive for an all crop drill. You can see it on the bottom, hanging down.
