| I have a 1953 wd 45 narrow front. I bought a 4 bolt wide front that I am going to put on it. The hand crank shaft and bracket are missing. Can anyone tell me if the narrow front parts are the same. I can't get pictures to come up on Agco parts books. Thanks Bill |

I'm not sure. The wide front & single front wheel use the same pedestal, the standard tricycle front is different, but I think these parts are the same on all of them. | I would have to look and see, but it seems to me that on the wide front that shaft comes out the front at an angle, not straight like the narrow front. so i think they are different. |

 Like Bryan says. The only difference appears to be the universal at the end of the shaft to allow for the angle.

Yes the shaft #6, #5, #4, #3, #2 are diff.
Someone on here is making the parts to fix wide/ single wheel front end hand cranks.

| With the shaft and bracket missing, it may be a WD45 Diesel one as they didn't have a crank for them. My 45 gas has a diesel one on it. |

If the crank "shaft" thru the pedestal is missing, you should either put a shaft in there or plug the holes.
One of my WD-45s was missing that shaft and when I went to drive it one spring I could not steer it. I mean it would literally NOT steer!
Mice had filled the area with some kind of cotton wadding and it wound itself into the gears. Took a while to dig all that stuff out with a hooked piece of stiff wire.
If it had been the WD, I could have simply taken the cover off to do the job.
I immediately "corked" the holes.

Lonnie, on the wide front crank extension parts are the same for the 3 bolt & 4 bolt. On the narrow fronts the shaft lenth is different, spring and support bracket. The engine crank pulley is different also. The wide front pulley is machined out larger to fit the swivel. For the wide fronts the shaft goes through the front casting at an angle to miss the top bearing on the wide & single front ends.that's why they have the swivel to line up to the crank pulley.. I had some crank swivels made and some other stuff. I'll have to look & see what I have left. hope this helps.

Well Bill, that's very interesting!
I never realized that!
Anybody who is interested in swapping frontends and wants everything to work had better get the crankshaft pulley to fit.
I won't write that one down because it was such a surprise to me that I probably will not forget it! LOL
