Doug, I am by no means an expert on the Big Al engines, but have been doing some homework for a little project of my own.  I think the Big Al version of the 21000/25000, was really no different than the power unit 21000/25000 engine, except for air compressor, and pump settings, you can find 21000/25000 model engines now and then, a whole lot easier than an actual purple people eater.

Darryl (WA) and I had a 900 hr. 25000 MK II engine for sale on here for a year. Sold it about a month ago. It was the latest version with all the updates of 6-138. Would have been great in a truck!!

I`ve been trying to get info on these installations for a while. Read some horror stories where late model 25000 and 6138s broke or destroyed the Jap made late model 6 counterweight crankshafts. Engines with the old 12 counterweight cranks (which I`m told go back as far as the ol Buda 844) seem to have no crankshaft problems. Back on page 10 of this section, there is a good line of discussion on truck engines initiated by member `big al`.     Mac
