I have a 1949 B Model .   and am looking at buying a sickle bar mower that was taken from an iB Model .  Is this a direct fit ?  If Not how difficult would it be to modify it to fit mine .   Any help would be greatly appreciated

The sickle bar mower on my IB will not fit on a B. It's made by Detroit Harvestor and mounts on the IB Side rails. The cool feature is that it will mow with the sickle bar in any position from parallel to the ground to upright, but it won't fit on a B.

that would be one very nice mower to own. Mounting it would be like putting a square peg in a round hole. If you like a challenge and can make several brackets, it would be an excellent unit to own.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

I think it would be somewhat of a challenge but certainly doable and well worth the effort.
A neighbor had an 8N Ford back in the 50s with one of those mowers and it really worked well.
It has a very, very short pitman arm which allows it to mow below grade and up vertically.
If I had a B, I would want that mower on it as it would make a nice match to the 82S mower I have on my WD-45.

BTW, there was also a hydraulically driven mower that would mow vertically available for the IBs as well. It was driven by a pump on the front of the crankshaft.
It was used by highway depts for roadside maintenance.
I have the pump off one that I acquired from a guy who restored an IB but did not want the mower. He had already junked the mower; that was a shame!
