| I have an extension for my SC blade but it doesn't match my blade as far as wear. I have a short blade that is too worn and one that is too new. Where can I get bolt on blades to try to match this up. thx, Jim |

I think you're referring to where to get replacement cutting edges. Check with a heavy equipment dealer or your local county/township shop. Often they have have odd lengths they can't use but will fit your blade.

Well, I'm trying to search for the post I made this spring about the same problem. I found an almost direct replacement from Cat but I can't remember the part number. I know the edge itself was only $60 plus new hardware. That took some time 7T-1633H is the Cat number I used. I have some side by side pictures of the old and new edge. I still have my old one that I'd ell. Good condition, just about 1/2" more wore than my extensions. AaronSEIA

Buy as much edge as needed and cut accordingly.

Exactly ............ last time i got one from the county hwy dept ..... ..just had to drill holes different .. cost me a 12 pack ....

I used the fire wrench on mine which is for use versus show.

| Well, for the holes, carriage bolts are used, so you'd need to have it cut out accordingly for the bolt end to hold. Just wondering how I'm going to accomplish this. Dave |

The left side of the cutting edge would cut down for the right side extension and vice versa. That give you the set of carriage bolt holes where they need to be. A gas axe would work as well as a 4" angle grinder with a few cutoff disks. AaronSEIA |

| Finally got around to stopping by Cat to try to figure out what I will need for the extensions cutting edges. Seems you can get the six foot cutting edge, 1/2" thick, six inch wide for $106. If you cut 18" off each end, you will have three of the four holes match up side to side. The holes are about 1/4" lower from the top than the original. Is this what you guys trying this found out? Are there any problems or should I be looking at something else? Thanks, Dave |

| put a new 6 foot on and use the one that is to new--- or if you have 2 ext. buy a 9 foot blade and put it on clare across. |
