im looking at a 7080 in what looks like very good condition. it has 4230hrs and hasnt been used or run in 3 to 4yrs now. it is owned by two bothers who split up their operation. he says it needs 4 new batteries and 4 new rear tires but from the pics i have seen there is only one flat but maybe just a simple tube would fix that. it has snap-on duals not axle type . i was wondering where the serial # would be . he is asking 4000$can. the engine was rebuilt 1-2yrs before parking it. other then maybe needing new rear tires abd the batteries plus new fuilds and filters is there anything esle . should i run from this?? i should mention that this tractor would see limited hrs on a buggy  and maybe planting at times

thanks rob

If memory serves, it's on the rear near the PTO.  Thinking it's on the top left of the PTO housing stamped on the top surface.

Yes that is right may have to take a wire brush to clean the dust and grim off doesn't sound like a terrible price paid 8200 for mine a year a go and needed a radiator repair and a few other odds n ends.  But but equipment is pricy in Montana compare to other parts.

Two batteries will start it in Illinois, may be differernt up there. Anything used can be a good or bad deal for the money.I can't buy anything used that don't end up being worse than I thought. Might depend on how mechanicly inclined you are.

Sounds like not a bad deal for the money.  The rear tires will be in the $4k neighbourhood with tax, depending upon what brand you get.  I have had quotes of $3600.00 for cheaper brands.  I just bought myself a nice maroon belly 7060.
