Guys: I have a B with the square stock front axle - I don't think that Allis ever built a front weight for that axle? I have several of the wishbone front weights but using them on the square stock axle would look kinda odd. Can you recommend any cast weights that would be rectangular that I could bolt up to the front of the axle? I have engine side weights I could use but would prefer to have the weight out in front of the axle. I have an old sodbuster plow buried deep in my woods that has one heck of a rectangular cast counter weight on it which I could use but I don't think it is wide enough to communicate to the bolt holes that hold the axle together. I have been using the tractor to get my firewood and on a slight grade with a wagon full of wood it gets a little light on the front end. Any thoughts or comments are very much appreciated.

| The best would be front wheel weights and second would be to load the front tires , but them little bitty tires wouln't hold much ballast. |

Gary in da UP - I have searched for nearly 15 years for front wheel weights - none found around here. The closest I could find where a set of front weights for a little Massey Harris pony. I agree the little tires on the front of the B wouldn't hold much ballast. Anyone else...

TMiller: Like your idea. May go with that as I have plenty of flat stock. Eldon: thanks for the post with the weights on the axle. The reason that I mentioned the rectangular weight is because it would better match the profile of the front axle. Keep the ideas coming - all of them are good.

This is how I have the Massey weights painted orange for my CA.
Also , I use the cultivator bracket to mount extra weights up front!
does the B have the 2 boss mountings in the front?

Dewayne: The B does not have the boss mounting up front like your beautiful CA. Hey the cultivator mounting bracket is a great idea for extra weight! I can see that would work very well. I was thinking of attaching weights ( maybe 120 pound railroad rail) cut to length directly to the front of the axle similar to what TMiller mentioned. DeWayne always good to see your cherry CA. I've seen a chunk of Railroad rail bolted on the front of the B models. Not the best lookin', but an easy way to add weight to the nose... Steve@B&B |
