I have a chance to pick up one and I am wondering what to look for.  Extra parts that might be missing?  Things broken?  I have heard about questions on here about belts.  Anything you can think of.  Those of you who have brought one of these back, help with your biggest pains?  Also, is $250 a good price?  TIA

Ted

Rotobalers are truely a one of a kind machine.  They are also one of the most indestructible machines I have ever seen.  I have said many times that one can sit outside for 20 years and if the rubber rollers are ok you can install new belts lubricate them and go bale.  I would do an average check for any broken pieces.  As I said before this is not likely.  Hopefully it has a good set of spliceless belts on it.  Make sure all of the upper belts are the same length.  Also, make sure all of the springs seem to be in good condition.  There are some springs available if you need to purchase some.  Also make sure the rubber rolls are not cracked and the rubber is not falling off of them.  I have some parts and my Dad has some machines he would sell but the two would be needed to make one.  Spliced belts are also available if needed.  $250 is a fair price if it is in working condition.  If it is in my area I can maybe even go check it out for you.

Hope this helps.
Jim

Thanks Jim, that helps some.  It is just down the road from me, so I'll have to be the judge.  Just wondered what to look out for.  I'd be just picking it up to fix up for show more than anything.  I wouldn't be using it.  Well, maybe not right away.  LOL
Thanks, Ted
